What kind of friend are you to your own body? What kind of thoughts do you think about it? What kind of choices do you make for it?
If a friend asked you for help, would you be there for them only if you gained from doing so? Would you listen to a friend only if you somehow benefited?
Too often, the choices we make around our body have to do with what we want to get out of it- youth, beauty, pleasure, strength, desirability. What about love? Compassion? Kindness? Care? Can you be there for yourself, just because? You need and deserve your own care.
